However, alone this plan would not meet Minimum Creditable Coverage standards and cannot fulfill the individual mandate to have health insurance. But combined with enrollment in an HMO or PPO Medicare Advantage Plan this combination may satisfy that mandate.
How Does Medex Work?
Medex Medicare Advantage plans provide health coverage and prescription drug benefits to Medicare beneficiaries in addition to Parts A and B coverage. Services provided are managed by CMS – part of the Department of Health and Human Services.

MEDEX students completing their clinical phase of training complete a four-month primary care preceptorship in family practice settings as well as six one-month clerkships that include behavioral medicine, inpatient, emergency medicine and surgery – plus one required rotation in an underserved area. Furthermore, there is an MEDEX campus located in Kona Hawaii to support island students and community-based learning.
MEDEX regularly updates its provider networks; however, some providers may no longer be accepting new patients or their information may have changed since being published.
